The focus for day 4 of our 7 day somatic yoga journey to self-compassion is release.

This practice mindfully supports the gentle release of anything that is no longer serving you. This might be lingering emotions, rumination, worries about the future, physical tension, holding patterns in the body, and so on.

This practice includes hip opening postures, spinal movements, breathwork, rhythmic movement, and self-soothing touch to help release tension and lingering emotions, allowing energy to flow with greater ease throughout the body.

By shedding what no longer serves, we make space for qualities that we would like to nurture within, including compassion.

Releasing what no longer serves is an act of self-compassion in itself.

Following this practice, I encourage you to explore a self-care practice that would feel grounding and nourishing for you. This might include listening to calming music, resting in silence, journaling, meditating, going for a walk, sipping on a warm beverage, offering yourself a hug, and so on.
