The ancient houses built with earthen walls are a typical feature of traditional villages in Songyang County, Zhejiang.
Many of these old villages and houses have been well preserved.
Most of these villages are hundreds of years old.
Since roads were built into these remote mountain areas, allowing vehicles to reach them directly,
these once hidden villages have become more livable, while still retaining their original charm.
