In this video I demonstrate how to modify a guitar tone potentiometer to be "no load", for true bypass. The change in sound is subtle, as you'll hear, but it's worthwhile.

FAQ - Will this work for volume pots?
No. A volume pot is wired as a voltage divider with all three lugs being used (one side to ground and the other to the signal). Cutting the trace will disconnect one side of the pot, breaking it. It works ok on a tone pot, since only one side (two lugs) of the pot is used.
