This practice focuses on gathering energy into your center, or Danjeon, the lower abdomen area in traditional qigong, where energy is believed to reside.
Here’s what you can expect in each section of this routine:
Opening Exercises: Begin by centering yourself with mindful breathing and gentle movements. As you raise and lower your hands, focus on grounding your energy, creating a stable base for the practice.
Sky to Earth Press: Lift your hands to shoulder height, connecting to the expansive energy above, and press them down toward the earth. This motion helps to harmonize your energy with the sky and ground it deeply, allowing you to release tension and find balance.
Sky to Earth Expansion: Continue expanding your energy by opening the chest and heart area. With each breath, feel a sense of openness and calmness, as you expand outward and return to center, creating a flow of energy that supports emotional relaxation and release.
Dantian Energy Gathering Flow: With each movement, gather energy into your Danjeon. Lateral arm openings on both sides build inner stability, grounding, and focus. These gentle twists help concentrate and store energy within your center.
Double Energy Expansion: This movement enhances the expansion and contraction of energy around your center. By opening both arms wide and returning to the Dantian, you’ll deepen your sense of balance and strengthen your connection with your energy core.
Rotational Energy Gathering: Integrate rotational movements to activate the flow of energy throughout the body, supporting circulation and mental clarity. These rotations cultivate focus, balance, and resilience, enriching your qigong practice.
