I generally enjoy a NY Sour this time of year (or any for that matter) this cocktail as well as many other sours can be experimented with, especially with some autumnal flavours.
I very much enjoying adding a fruit and spice combo to cocktails with the season in mind. Here I’ve gone for cinnamon and plum. Maybe there’s a cocktail coming next week with almond & fig 👀
Sours are fun, but recoding them can be annoying. There is outtake footage of me adjusting a very foamy plum fan that I placed in the drink away from the camera 😅
50ml Whiskey (traditionally bourbon, but I wanted a bit of rye spice in this one)
15ml Akashi Tai Umeshu (gifted) for extra plum, although feel free to use a liqueur of your choice. Grand marnier for instance would work well.
25ml Lemon Juice
15ml Cinnamon syrup
Egg white (or alternative foamer)
Half a muddled plum
Red wine float (plummy works well here, from Mendozan Malbec to St-Emillions)
Plum fan garnish
Remember your dry shake for all the fluffy texture
