Quacula is a short animated segment produced by Filmation that aired as part of The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse and Heckle & Jeckle on CBS in 1979. The series follows Quacula, a clumsy vampire duck who sleeps in a coffin shaped like an egg during the day and spends his nights attempting to scare the nervous homeowner, Theodore H. Bear, though his plans usually fail in comedic fashion. In the episode Room for Rent, Theodore attempts to deal with his troublesome vampire tenant while chaos unfolds around the house, continuing the running gag of Quacula's spooky schemes backfiring in humorous ways. The character was voiced by Frank Welker, while Theodore was voiced by Filmation co-founder Norm Prescott. The Quacula segments are known for mixing classic monster parody with slapstick cartoon humor during the late 1970s era of Saturday-morning animation.
