My dad made a Cantonese-style Garlic Chili Sauce. It's so tasty with everything! It immediately adds so much flavors and spice to all food!
🌶️ GARLIC CHILI SAUCE (蒜香辣椒醬) RECIPE
4 oz of dry chili peppers
2 heads of garlic
2 cups of oil
1 tsp of salt
🌶️ INSTRUCTIONS
1. Soak dry chili peppers in cold water for 1-2 hours to soften them, so when you mince them up, it's easier.
2. Use a food processor/chopper to mince up the chili peppers and garlic. Place in separate bowls.
3. Heat up a pot of oil to 200 F.
4. Add minced garlic into the oil. Fry until golden brown.
5. Add chili peppers into the oil, bring it to a boil, simmer for 5 to 10 minutes for the flavors and fragrance to come out.
6. Let it cool. Blend it into a chili oil (optional). Store in a jar. It should last about a month in the fridge.
7. Enjoy with dumplings, noodles and anything you like!
