Once Again, the Challenge: Breeding 1,000 Neon Tetras in 2024(Part 1): the Initial Attempt

Описание: Hello everyone! As you can see from the title, I'm embarking on the challenge of breeding 1,000 neon tetras once again. The neon tetra was the first tetra species I successfully bred and raised. I recall that my first success was nine years ago, after enduring 14 to 15 failed attempts, primarily due to my poor choice of their first food. Back then, I didn't know they could eat baby brine shrimp once they started swimming freely. Instead, I continued feeding them infusoria or paramecium, even when they were 15 days old. Hundreds of fry perished due to my ignorance.

However, once I discovered that feeding them baby brine shrimp allowed them to grow into adulthood, my interest shifted to other tetra species. Unfortunately, I've never been able to breed and raise more than 200 of them at a time. I thought I had mastered the breeding neon tetras and assumed that increasing the breeding pairs would naturally yield a higher number.

But last year's challenge to breed 1,000 neon tetras taught me a valuable lesson. I realized that I'm still far from mastering the breeding process, specifically in raising the fry to adulthood. To this day, I'm still unsure of the exact cause of fry mortality before they start swimming freely, which has been the main obstacle in achieving my goal.

I won't take this lightly, and I'm fully aware that there will be more failures along the way. But I'm determined to achieve this goal by the end of 2024. Wish me luck! I hope you'll join me on this journey and see how it unfolds.
