Chigule Falls is a small horsetail ephemeral waterfall, which means it only flows during the rainy season. This waterfall is the least visited waterfall in the Western Ghats. Chigule falls is 50 kilometres from Belgaum, and the route to the falls takes the Belgaum-Goa road (via Jamboti). Kankumbi is a village in the Karnataka district of Belgaum. It is surrounded by dense forest and waterfalls, one of which is the Chigule waterfall, which flows through the Karnataka - Goa reserve forest.

This is also the origin of the Malaprabha River, which flows eastward before joining Krishna at Kudala Sangama in Bagalkot. The temple complex's rectangular stone pond contains clear blue water. The water, however, turns milky white every 12 years when Guru enters makara rashi, according to the priest. According to him, the river's true source is a few hundred metres away, across a slushy field, beside the Ramalingeshwara Temple.

Behind the temple, there is a lovely viewpoint for visitors to enjoy the view of magnificent mountain ranges. This viewpoint has concrete benches where you can sit and take in the scenery.
