The Pashupatinath Temple (Nepali: पशुपतिनाथ मन्दिर) is a Hindu temple devoted to Pashupati, a manifestation of Shiva. It is located in Kathmandu, Nepal, near the Bagmati River. The temple was designated a World Heritage Site in 1979. This "extensive Hindu temple precinct" is a "sprawling collection of temples, ashrams, images, and inscriptions raised over the centuries along the banks of the sacred Bagmati river" and is one of seven monument groupings in Kathmandu Valley's UNESCO classification. The temple, one of Hinduism's holiest pilgrimage sites, spans 246 hectares and has 518 mini-temples as well as a major pagoda building.

Pashupatinath temple is designated as one of the most sacred Shiva Kshetras (abodes of Shiva) in the Skanda Purana, as well as one of Tevaram's Paadal Petra Sthalams (Tamil Tevara Sthalam). Budhanilkantha Temple, located in Budhanilkantha, Nepal (Nepali: बुढानिलकण्ठ मन्दिर), is a Hindu open-air temple devoted to Lord Mahavishnu. Budhanilkantha Temple, also known as the Narayanthan Temple in Hinduism, can be characterized by a massive reclining statue of Lord Mahavishnu. However, in the Buddhist world, the term "Buddhanilkantha" refers to one of the many incarnations of Avalokiteshvara. The name translates to "Blue-Throated Buddha."

The Hindu texts Bhagavata Purana, Vishnu Purana, and the epics Ramayana and Mahabharata mention Samudra manthan, which is intimately tied to the genesis of Gosaikunda. According to mythology, the spring that supplies the pond in the Budanilkantha temple is connected to Gosaikunda, providing a direct access to Lord Shiva's water supply. This is why its name is dedicated to Lord Shiva, even though the statue is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, because the water pond on which the statue stands is connected to Gosaikunda, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was the result of him drinking the poison and storing it in his throat, resulting in his blue throat. This temple is considered sacred by Hindus, but Buddhists also hold it in high respect. It is seen as a symbol of religious concord, which has prevailed in the region from ancient times.

Swayambhu Mahachaitya :
Swayambhunath (Devanagari: स्वयम्भू स्तूप; Nepal Bhasa: स्वयंभू; often Swayambu or Swoyambhu) is an ancient temple complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu. The site's Tibetan name, 'Sublime Trees', refers to the numerous different types of trees found on the hill. However, Shingun may be the Nepalese Bhasa name for the complex, Swayambhu, which means'self-sprung'. Swayambhu is the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site for the Buddhist Newars, who place it at the center of their mythological history, origin myth, and daily religious practice. It ranks second only to Boudha among Tibetans and Tibetan Buddhists. Swayambhu is a Hindu name. According to the Swayambhu Purana, the entire valley was formerly covered with a massive lake from which a lotus grew. The valley became known as Swayambhu, which means "self-created." The name refers to an eternal flame (svyaṃbhu), upon which a sūpa was eventually built.
