This video is the eighth of a continuous ten-part series covering all Fleet Status developments through 2025, in order to have them “on the record.” The videos for January-September.

This is August 2025’s MTA NYCT and MTA Bus Fleet Status Update, a continuation from where I left off for the July Recap. August was another very chaotic month for bus developments, yet somewhat more tame than July. Whereas July was solely defined by the chaos which unfolded on Staten Island, and the loans/transfers which resulted, August saw the ripple effects of this occurrence, in the form of 2013 MCIs and white Prevosts to Eastchester and Yonkers, Prevosts to Queens Village, and MTA Bus Prevosts to NYCT Depots in Staten Island. 2012 Prevosts were sent to Eastchester, but it turned out to be a failed experiment. Flatbush received more 3rd Gen Orion VIIs from Castleton, and 2019 LFSs were transferred from Jamaica to Charleston, while 2025 New Flyer XE60 5603 was delivered. We also touch on the impacts of the second phase of the Queens Bus Redesign, which kicked off on August 31st.

This video also addresses changes within the fleet utilized at depots at MTA New York City Bus (MaBSTOA and TA), as well as MTA Bus Company, such as retirements, transfers, loans, and new deliveries. This is Project 8E in my development method for Transit News.
