This is December 2025’s MTA NYCT and MTA Bus Fleet Status Recap, a continuation from where I left off for the November Update. December was an active month for bus developments, mainly concerning the delivery of 2025 Prevosts and XD60s. The beginning of the 250 Base Order Prevosts [1761-2010] began to arrive to the MTA in a fast-tracked manner. The first depot to receive them was College Point, which got 12 units in December.

In this video, we discuss the delivery of the final 2025 Prevosts to Castleton and Yukon, and the delivery of more 2025 Xcelsior Articulated diesel buses to Gun Hill Depot [6299-6302, 6304, 6306-6308], bringing them up to a total of 14 2025 XD60s. Staten Island is still using their new 2025 Prevost buses to prematurely retire some 2015 Prevosts with frame rot issues and send others to Ulmer Park and Queens Village. We highlight the 40-foot diesels which West Farms acquired in December and January, bringing them up to 19 2019 Nova LFSs and 21 XD40s. We discuss some LFS HEV trading between Gun Hill and Manhattanville, the fact that five more D4500CTs went to Eastchester for service, and the fact that more MCI D4500CLs are retiring. Finally, we reflect on all the MTA bus accidents and breakdowns through 2025.
