Summary
University Hospital Geelong, Barwon Health, has been a longtime advocate of home dialysis with over 30% of its dialysis population dialysing in their own home. In 2001, they introduced a program of nocturnal home haemodialysis and patients in this program today continue to dialyse overnight, for 8 hours, 4-5 nights a week. Many of these people welcomed the opportunity to share their experience with others to both reassure and to inform. This short film, made in 2018, highlights the best and the worst of home haemodialysis .... it is the real deal.
