Описание: Tarasp Castle is situated on a conical rocky hill in the southwest of the municipality of Scuol in the Swiss canton of Graubünden.
As a landmark of the Lower Engadine, Tarasp Castle in Graubünden majestically overlooks the region. Inside, a historical journey into the past combined with modern art awaits.
Tarasp Castle was built in 1040. Tarasp belonged to Austria until the beginning of the 19th century. At the turn of the 20th century, the castle, in a dilapidated state, was purchased and extensively renovated by K.A. Lingner, a spa guest and inventor of Odol mouthwash.
Since March 30, 2016, the world-renowned Engadin artist Not Vital has been the new owner of Tarasp Castle. His vision is to develop Tarasp Castle into a cultural attraction of national and international importance, featuring contemporary art, a sculpture park, and a space that will remain open to the public.

The castle hill rises above a terrace on the right bank of the Inn River. At its feet lie the hamlets of Sparsels, Fontana, Florins, and Sgnè – which formed the municipality of Tarasp until the end of 2014 – as well as Lake Tarasp (in Romansh, Lai da Tarasp), which was created in the Middle Ages.
The castle comprises approximately 100 rooms. It features a Jehmlich organ from 1915/16, whose pipework is distributed across several adjoining rooms. The sound is conveyed into the ballroom via sound ducts and decorative grilles. The three-manual console is located in an adjacent chamber.
