HOW TO MAKE SOURDOUGH STARTER STEP-BY-STEP
150gm wheat flour : 1.33 cup
150gm warm water : 0.63cup
75gm whole wheat flour : 0.66 cup
75gm warm water : 0.32
Day 1: – 8 AM ( in the morning )
combine together 150g whole wheat flour and 150g bottled or filtered warm water in a clean bowl. Mix it well, Put the starter into your clean container and cover it loosely with a piece of plastic wrap or towel. You will feed your starter tomorrow at the same time of the day, you can set an alarm.
Day 2: – 8 AM ( in the morning )
remove half the starter and throw it away, this starter is not good for anything except being food for the yeast.
I use a spoon to scoop mine out.
Remove half the starter. Feed the starter 75g whole wheat flour and 75g bottled warm water. Stir with your spoon until you don’t see any flour and then cover it back up. And place this container aside again for 24 hours
Day 3: – 8 AM ( in the morning )
Remove half the starter and throw it away. Add 75g whole wheat flour and 75g bottled water. Stir until you can’t see any dry flour, cover loosely, and set back in a warm area.
Day 4: – 8 AM ( in the morning )
Remove half the starter and throw it away. Add 75g whole wheat flour and 75g bottled water. Stir until you can’t see any dry flour, cover loosely, and set back in a warm area.
Day 5: – 8 AM ( in the morning )
Remove half the starter and throw it away. Add 75g whole wheat flour and 75g bottled water. Stir until you can’t see any dry flour, cover loosely, and set back in a warm area.
Day 6: – 8 AM ( in the morning )
Remove half the starter and throw it away. Add 75g whole wheat flour and 75g bottled water. Stir until you can’t see any dry flour, cover loosely, and set back in a warm area.
Day 7: – 8 AM ( in the morning )
Remove half the starter and throw it away. Add 75g whole wheat flour and 75g bottled water. Stir until you can’t see any dry flour, cover loosely, and set back in a warm area.
Day 7: – 8 AM ( in the Evening )
Remove half the starter and throw it away. Add 75g all purpose flour and 75g bottled water. Stir until you can’t see any dry flour, cover loosely, and set back in a warm area.
Day 8: – 8 AM ( in the morning )
Ready starter
So floating test by adding spoon of the batter in a jar full of water , check if its floating nicely or not
If not then follow feeding process for another 12 hours and repeat
If it floats then our starter is ready fo leaven.
