...is an award-winning performer, composer, and filmmaker. With a scientific background, Mariana brings an innovative, cross-genre perspective to traditional fado. Her latest album, O Meu Nome É Ninguém (My Name is No One), features lyrics by renowned poet Maria Manuel Cid, and reimagines fado with a global perspective. Mariana’s work has earned international recognition, including an honorary mention as Musical Artist of the Year at the Portuguese Tribune 2024 Awards. She is also known for her award-winning documentary A Calçada Conhece-te, which supported the UNESCO bid for Portuguese Calçada art. Currently, she is touring the U.S. and developing a new film about the life of Maria Manuel Cid and her own journey as an artist and scientist.
