Two sessions and 31 beautiful ladies of the stream to show for it. Catches were split, half on the Parachute Spider Greenwell's pattern and half on the CDC.
The first session was dull, overcast, wet & breezy whereas the second session was dry, warm, sunny and calm. The former session proved more successful too.
It's difficult for non fly fishers to get across to fishing 'Muggles' how therapeutic, how calming and rewarding our pastime is. But that's fine... more time on the river for us! The people I meet; the fellow anglers always cause me to stop and banter; share experiences, tips and guidance and I always end up running out of my favourite and best flies because I'm constantly handing them around. Gives me an excuse to tie more, I guess.
I'm working on my fish handling. Difficult with grayling as the writhe, rhythmically and it's hard to get the barbless hook out, even when it's in her lip. Still, I always return... just my choice.
