Well, our annual fishing meet-up went quite well, given the cold, breezy early March conditions on the Dee (Llandderfel, Bala Anglers waters).
I know this beat pretty well; I know where to find Brownies and the Grayling right along this stretch and the whole of the river Dee that is available to Vale of Clwyd Angling Club members (Bala Anglers and Llangollen Maelor) renders both fabulous fishing and beautiful settings, too!
I explained that I'd be (semi) retiring in the August so the boys presented me with a few gifts... and as with every year, made me a full cooked breakfast too. Perfect hosts in their AirB&b!
We caught a number of grayling almost entirely on dries (F-Fly and Greenwell's Parachutes #16) in the margins and seams of riffles...
I returned home in time to see Conor Murray give possession back to England at Twickenham with only 59 seconds left on the clock... only to hand the game to England from a winning position! 😩💔☘️
