The Elakha Alliance is excited to invite Oregon artist Elizabeth Roberts to be our virtual guest speaker on Tuesday January 16th, 2024. Elizabeth just completed an incredible sea otter sculpture made entirely out of marine debris for the Elakha Alliance to utilize for our community engagement.
During this webinar, Elizabeth Roberts will share her experiences working on large-scale marine debris removal projects in the Gulf of Alaska, collecting data on plastic pollution in the Gulf of Maine, and building sculptures for the Washed Ashore Project in Bandon and for Bømlo Kunstlag in Norway. She has been on the front lines of this issue for over a decade and continues to make it her mission to educate the public and inspire awareness through her art. She will also discuss her process in creating the life-sized sea otter sculpture for the Elakha Alliance.
