This presentation was part of the 2025 Elakha Alliance Science Symposium.
Our focus this year are the “Restoring Balance: Sea Otter Conservation Lessons & Updates.” We’ve chosen the theme to coincide with the release of the newly published Sea Otter Conservation II: Nearshore Ecosystem Restoration book.
The Elakha Alliance is an Oregon non-profit organization working to make to make our marine ecosystems and local communities more robust and resilient by restoring a healthy population of sea otters back to the Oregon coast.
Presentation Description: Dr. Matt Edwards, Professor of Biology at San Diego State University, discusses sea otters and rocky reef communities as highlighted in Chapter 2 of the Sea Otter Conservation II: Nearshore Ecosystem Restoration book.
