The Ballara Heritage Mining Trail like most of outback Queensland is hot, dry and a great spot to get out and explore!
Hey guys, big welcome back to my channel, in this video I’ll be taking you on a bit of an outback adventure through some interesting mining country, old ghost towns and beautiful landscapes located along the Ballara Heritage mining trail (around half way between Mount Isa and Cloncurry).
The track is a well maintained 4wd tourist trail, now signposted and scattered with remnants of the life and wealth mining previously brought to the area. Today you should still be able to spot the mine shafts, footings and railways that are now protected and remain. Additionally with a 4wd you should be able to reach the mining trails heritage tunnel carved through the rocky hillside which unfortunately I wasn’t able to visit on this trip.
