John Hatcher, a Sandpoint resident, was an active outdoorsman who was diagnosed with arthritis in his hip in 2017. The pain soon made the things he loved -- like hiking, biking, surfing, skiing and walking his dogs -- unbearable. After an unsuccessful "scope" he decided to get a total hip replacement from Kootenai Clinic Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgeon Joseph Bowen. John underwent surgery in October and has since made a remarkable and transformative recovery. He has gotten his life back.
