JUAR/JOWAR/SORGHUM , our ancient and traditional grain , a healthy substitute for wheat grain. Jowar is gluten free, rich in fiber, high protein ( 1 cup has 22 gm of protein), full of iron, contains high level of magnesium and thus good for bone health. Packed with micro nutrients and vitamins.
Make Jowar a regular part of your diet and enjoy its benefits. You could do so with the help of this delicious recipe, "Juar jo dodo".
Juar jo dodo can be had with curd / pickle for breakfast and can be had with Sai bhaji or Tidali dal for lunch.
NOTE
1. Fresh green garlic ( saayi thoom in sindhi ) is used instead of dry garlic.If green garlic is not available , one can go for dry garlic.
2. One can use the warm water to knead the dough.
3. Wet the palm with water before patting the dough so to avoid the dough sticking to your palms.
4.Instead of plastic sheet, one can use wet thin muslin cloth or greased parchment paper.
5. If one finds difficult patting with hand , place the dough in between the sheets ( greased) and roll it with a rolling pin to flatten it.
6. Cook both sides on medium flame.
