SWFL Eagles 2-16-26. M15 & F23 MATE AT THE POND after Short Chase; + Valentine's Day Baths!

Video opens with F23 finishing a feeding for E26 on 2-14-26. F23 flies to the pond for sips and a bath. She pulls up a fish that appears to have recently perished. (With the cold weather here recently, some fish may not recover from the cold shock. I do not know if this fish was affected by cold shock.) F23 leaves the fish in the water, and takes a refreshing bath. When done, she flies to the DSPS (drive side pond snag). M15 flies to the pond next and takes his bath. When done, he joins F23 on the DSPS.

The next segment is from 2-16-26. M15 and F23 are in the nest tree. M15 takes off to the pond in chase flight. F23 follows. Whatever they were chasing (or trying to steal from) was not in cam view. Both land on the S bank, and M15 follows F23 around wanting to mate (bond). They mate by the water's edge, keeping their bond strong! Eagles that stay together year round may mate (while not fertile), and continue other pair activity to keep their bond strong. Additional information in the time stamps below.

2-16-26: E26 was treated to 5 fish today. M and F delivered nest materials, had a few discussion and spent time at pond with bonding. E did winging, hopping, and making selfies in Cam 2. One adult roosts above. Sleep safely Eagle Family

01:10. F23 flies to the pond.
01:41. F23 wades in, pulls up a deceased fish, leaves it in the water.
02:22. F23 gets started on her bath.
05:01. Bath over, F23 flaps to shore.
05:32. F23 flies to the DSPS.
05:50. M15 flies to the pond.
06:55. The Happy Appy strolls past M15 soaking in the pond.
06:17. M15 gets his bath started.
09:39. Bath over, M15 heads to shore.
10:22. M15 joins F23 on the DSPS.
10:48. Close view, both drying, F23/right.
2-16-26
11:24. M15 flies from outer brasnch to the pond in chase flight.
11:32. F23 from the attic to the pond area, also in chase flight.
11:49. M15 lands first, then F23.
12:01. Closer view, M15 does the eagle hustle over to F23.
13:27. F23 moves off to the right, pulls on stick in water.
13:52. M15 runs after/follows F23; time for mating!
14:09. Mating (bonding) at the pond!
14:42. F23 hustles off to the right, plays with a palm from in the water.
