SWFL Eagles 2-17-26. F23 CHASES INTRUDER TRYING TO LAND IN NEST TREE; E26 Defends the Nest! 🦅💪🦅

Описание: Video opens with F23 on the treetop perch, and E26 in the nest. An intruder flies in from the NW. F23 vocalizes warnings, which the intruder does not heed. The intruder circles the nest tree, appears to try to land by F23, then circles to the E. The intruder comes back into view, making another pass over F23. She chases the intruder a short distance from the nest tree, then returns to the nest. E26 watches the intruder, then the chases. When F23 returns to the nest, E26 defends the nest, apparently not realizing in the fast action that it is F23 landing. E26 goes into defensive posture, using wing slaps/hopping against F23, mantle up, to try to force her off the nest. Great job, E26! The intruder passes the nest tree, then leaves view heading N/NW. The view is not good enough to properly age the eagle. We can see there is white in the tail feathers (03:30), and at least some white head feathers, so possibly and older subadult or adult. F23 moves to the veranda.

M15 arrives, and the family of three watch over the territory. M15 takes flight, heading N, and F23 follows. One adult quickly returns, and this appears to be F23. (M15 has been at the nest since this occurred, so he is OK.) Additional information in the time stamps below.
