Hi everyone, it’s match day, as we head down the M6 for one of my favourite fixtures of the season and into the Midlands for Birmingham City vs Stoke City at St Andrew’s.

Stoke suffered another setback in the race for the playoffs, as they were beaten 2-1 by 2nd place Middlesbrough, Thomas Rigo opened his account on 15’, with a powerful shot from outside the area, which dipped and made its way past the keeper. However, the Potters great start was undone by Middlesbrough in the second half, as they capitalised on some poor defending from Stoke and scored two goals to grab all three points on the night. Stoke were also dealt another blow, as Bosun Lawal saw red for two bookable offences, which did anger the home crowd, as a two footed challenge from Luke Ayling bizarrely only saw a yellow card brandished.

Stoke travel to Birmingham today, and they have only won one of their last 15 visits to St Andrews, there only win came on Boxing Day 2023, where the Potters run out 3-1 winners with goals from Jordan Thompson, Lynden Gooch and Andre Vidigal.

Can the Potters get that win today ?

My prediction today, is for a 1-1 draw, we have been playing well away from home, and with wins at Hull & Norwich recently, we just might have a chance. It is going to be tough game with all these injuries stacking up and that suspension to Bosun Lawal, he will be a big miss today. Have we got enough, we will just have to see.
