Описание: Hi everyone, it’s match day, and it’s a trip down to Kassam Stadium tonight for Oxford United vs Stoke City.

Stoke City go into tonight’s match, after a 5-star performance against high flying Bristol City at the weekend, where the Potters put in a ruthless display in front of goal, as they ran out 5-1 winners at The Bet365. A first hat-trick for Divin Mubama topped a brilliant performance on the day, which had Stoke playing some great one touch football Infront of goal, which did lead to a perfect strike from Million Manhoef on 25’. It was then topped by an unbelievable lung busting solo run from Junior Tchamadeu, who took on half the Bristol City team to dispatch his shot past the helpless Bristol keeper, which did send the Stoke fans into raptures. It was a perfect all-round performance from the Potters and this moves them up to 3rd place in the Championship and now 4 points off the leaders Coventry City, who they face at home on Saturday.

Stoke beat Portsmouth 1-0 at Fratton Park in their last away game in October, but the Potters haven’t won back-to-back away games without conceding in the Championship since December 2021 / January 2022 which was (2-0 vs QPR and Hull City). The Potters have won only one of their last eight league games against Oxford United, D4 & L3, a 4-0 home win was back in September 2000, which was in the third tier.

Oxford United are currently in 18th position and have never lost a home game in the football league against Stoke City in eight previous meetings (W6 & D2). Oxford are also winless in their last six midweek league games (D2 & L4), since a 3-2 home win against Luton Town in January. This will be the nineth meeting between Gary Rowett and Stoke manager Mark Robins in the football league, with both winning three of the previous eight.

Stoke’s last visit to The Kassam Stadium, ended in a disappointing 1-0 defeat for Stoke, and that match turned out to be Steven Schumacher’s last game in charge for The Potters, with the only goal coming from Idris Mizouni on 48’ which was the difference between the sides on the day, as Stoke struggled Infront of goal.

My prediction today is a 2-0 Stoke win, I do think we will be riding high on confidence after the weekend and we will have too much quality for Oxford to deal with, it will be a good test today, as these are the matches we typically have struggled to get a result in the past.
