Zines: radical, DIY, self-published works, have for decades been synonymous with anti-establishment movements. Considering this, we find ourselves asking: What role, if any, can zines play in academia? How can we engage with zines in an institutional context without destroying their meaning? What problems can zines solve? In this series, we explore these questions by looking at what exactly makes a zine a zine- from their history and materiality to their ethos and politics - with librarians, archivists, students, and faculty from Tulane University.
