After a couple of weeks feeling rough with sinusitis, Glenn wasn’t exactly in peak storm chasing condition. Normally he’d be out on the piers or wandering the harbour with the camera, but on this particular day the body was saying something very clear… stay near the heater.

So instead of staying home, Glenn did the next best thing. He drove slowly around Whitby looking for scenes he’d never filmed before. Quiet corners, unexpected angles, glimpses of the harbour through the windscreen and a town carrying on regardless in three degree temperatures and snow showers drifting in off the North Sea.

Despite the cold, Whitby’s hardy outdoor types were still out in force. Dog walkers, sea swimmers, and of course the legendary Dry Robe Brigade standing proudly on the beach like extras from a film called York Designer Outlet meets Arctic expedition.

Sometimes when you’ve been ill the hardest thing is restarting the creative engine. This video is simply a slow drive around Whitby as that momentum begins to return.

Nothing dramatic happens.

But sometimes that’s where the story is.
