I'M NOT PATIENT ENOUGH TO HAVE MORE KIDS

Reason #11 People stop having children: I don't have enough patience.

"That's correct. You don't. I don't. We don't.
That's the joy of it! We get to grow and learn and sanctify with our children. No one is born with patience. Some might be more patient than others but no one is just super patient.

We get to learn patience as we go. Along with a lot of other thing's. When we start a new job. We're never just automatically good at it. We learn how to do it. When we start a new sport, we are never just automatically good at it. We have to practice and learn it.

You'll never feel ready in any capacity for your next child. That's where faith comes in. We willingly jump into a million other things that have massive sacrifices, learning curves and push us to our limits but for some reason children are a non negotiable. Yet they're also the greatest blessing, a legacy to be carried on for generations and they're the only eternal thing we create on earth.

I'm here to testify I was patient before I had children. I had no idea how much impatience I had until I had children. But ten children in and my patience has grown leaps and bounds.
I'm not the same person or mom I once was.

The Bible says a woman is saved through childbearing, never understood that until recently. The process of sanctification through raising children is hard but for our good. Patience learned isn't just a great trait in motherhood but in living for Christ in general. It grows our obedience to the Lord. We can either refuse to grow and stop having children due to our own ability or we can push into the sanctification process and watch ourselves grow in the spirit and be radically changed by the power of God.

I don't think anyone truly stops because they don't have patience because the things they're pursuing in this life require the same patience. I think the true reason is they just don't want more kids. It's not as appealing as that new business, new skill or ripped body.

But if your hold up is your patience, remember as believers we don't live by our ability but by the power of the living God."
