Day 7: Los Arcos → Logroño
Another long, sun-drenched stretch — 28 km through vineyards, fields, and wide-open skies 🌾☀️. The highlight? Crossing into La Rioja, Spain’s wine region 🍷, and finishing the day in vibrant Logroño with pinchos, new friends, and a grateful heart. But real talk? Blisters are part of the Camino, and today I got the full lowdown from two Argentinian doctors on the trail. Their advice: don’t pop them! That creates an open wound and raises the risk of infection. Instead, they recommend Compeed, tape, and daily drying to help the skin heal naturally. But if a blister gets infected? Clean it with Betadine or antiseptic, and only pop it if the pain is unbearable (not their recommendation)— and always with a sterilized needle. Everyone has their own method, but I’m learning fast that caring for your feet is a spiritual practice in itself here 👣.
