Beech ranks as high as oak in terms of BTU per cord at 24 but you rarely hear about it!!
I burned and sold a lot of wood (for me) this year so I am working re-stocking the stacks for next season. I did a woods walk behind my neighbors to see if there is anything on the ground I can cut up during the day and make a bunch of easy trips. Found a really nice Beech tree and hopefully I can cut and haul all of it!
