Welcome to the Weekend Homestead. A collections of videos about our Homestead Project. We live full time in the Twin Cities, but on the weekends we strive for a slower lifestyle. Come Along on the journey.
This weekend we some maintaining of snowmobiles and get them ready to ride this season.
Our check list for taking them out of storage is to:
-Update the trail passes and paperwork
-Fill with Gas (Premium Gas only)
-New spark plugs (we use a small shot of engine starter in ours for the first time starting each season after storage)
What we used: http://amzn.to/248AGsD
-Check engine for loose connections, leaky fluids, any junk that built up in the off season
-Top off oil and coolant if needed
-Check chain case oil
-Grease all points on suspension
-Clean as needed
-Start it up and let it run for 5 minutes, then recheck everything
After we get them running, we went on a little ride with our family and some of our friends.
Right out the back side of the homestead we have access to the Wisconsin ATV and Snowmobile trail system.

All of it is maintained by The Sawyer County Snowmobile & ATV Alliance which is the world's largest single owner of Trail Grooming Equipment. We build, maintain and groom over 600 miles of groomed trails. This is all done by volunteers who love the outdoors and encourage family outings on our trails.
It is an awesome place to tour and ride and we are thankful we have direct access to the trail system to enjoy everything it has to offer.
