Join us in the Louis P Ciminelli Recital Hall at Rockwell Hall for an evening voice recital and engaging masterclass of Art Song in a Time of Women's Suffrage featuring guest performer Ivy Walz, mezzo soprano with Pej Reitz, piano!
Ivy Walz enjoys an enriching career as a concert and recital singer, an opera & musical theater performer, and as a dedicated vocal educator. Possessing a deep love of the art song recital as a medium for expressing musically and artistically, and for giving voice to many different social justice issues, she has cultivated a diverse array of programs and collaborations. Recent invited performances and collaborations include Fall Island Vocal Arts Seminar, Finger Lakes Chamber Ensemble, SongFest, Cincinnati Song Initiative, Denver Art Song Project, Leo Kestenberg Musikschule in Berlin, Germany, Middlebury Song Fest, and Civic Morning Musicals. An avid concert soloist, Ivy has performed a variety of repertoire with choruses and orchestras, including Symphoria Syracuse, Binghamton Philharmonic, Akron Symphony, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, and Sacketts Harbor Vocal Arts Ensemble. As an experienced opera artist, she has appeared with Cincinnati Opera, Syracuse Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, the Spoleto Festival, Opera Ithaca, Tri-Cities Opera, Resonance Works and Society for New Music. Ivy was a finalist for the American Prize, Women in Art Song in 2018 – 2019. She holds degrees from Ithaca College (BM, MM) and the DMA from the College Conservatory of Music at University of Cincinnati. Ivy is currently serving as the Interim Dean of the School of Music at Ithaca College where she served on the voice faculty for ten years.

•Ciminelli Recital Hall is located on FLOOR 3 of Rockwell Hall at Buffalo State College.
•Handicap accessible entrance with elevator to the recital hall located via the building entrance at parking lot I-30 (rear of Rockwell Hall off the Iroquois Drive entrance to campus off Elmwood Avenue)
•FREE PARKING for this event will be in the general campus lots surrounding Rockwell Hall (Lots R-1, R-2, R-3 off the Rockwell Road entrance to campus; Lots I-30, I-32, I-33 off the Iroquois entrance to campus)
