Today’s adventure takes us from the river to home.
We start by gathering smooth, sturdy rocks with permission from the state, choosing each one to add to our homestead stream for hopping from rock to rock. Back home, we place them together as a family and enjoy walking along the stream, rock to rock.
The ducks wander nearby—Hopper, our one-legged duckling, stays close to his blue Swedish mother, while Mama Hen’s fast-growing chicks explore the lawn. Faven, our beagle, keeps watch from the road as we lead the ducks down to Neighbor Al’s pond.
At Al's, we share stories and quiet moments on the porch while the ducks swim in the pond.
We end the video with mom and kids walking back home, finding beautiful red thimbleberries to snack on along the way.
