Last winter, I began creating a handmade winter gown in the hope that Arkansas would gift us enough snow for a truly wintry photoshoot. In part one, I focused on the bodice and corset construction. In this second installment of the winter costume vlog series, I move on to building the full skirt and sewing a dramatic fur-lined coat to complete the look.
This video documents the process of skirt construction and variations on garment layering, showing how the silhouette and movement of the gown really begin to come alive. From just an idea in my head and a very rough plan, this stage transforms the costume from just a corset and a dream to a fully-fledged, wintry creation, complete with a full reveal at the end!
