Описание: Welcome to this Reinforced Concrete Design tutorial, where we work through a full Flanged Beam worked example to Eurocode 2.
This tutorial gives a recap on the design process and places particular emphasis on the case where the compression zone remains entirely within the flange — a key design scenario before the stress block extends into the web.

📌 In this tutorial, we:
✅ Determine the effective flange width for a continuous slab
✅ Identify when the compression stress block lies fully in the flange for this example
✅ Develop a design flow chart for checking flange compression
✅ Calculate ultimate moment, effective section properties, and required reinforcement for a flanged beam
✅ Complete the step-by-step solution for the Flanged Beam
This worked example is ideal for practising Eurocode 2 flanged beam design and understanding how the flange alone can resist compression before the neutral axis drops into the web.
