We go to Verneukpan where Sir Malcolm Campbell attempted to break the Land speed record in 1929. A number of others have also attempted various speed records there .The pan is 57km by 11km wide
Our first stop was to be over Katbakkies to the Tankwa Padstal then along the R355 longest dirt road in South Africa to Calvinia for the first night.Second night to Wild Camp on the Verneukpan..Third night dirt roads to Sutherland for the evening , and finally home on the R356 dirt road to Ceres.
I managed to get some stunning aerial footage of the Tankwa Karoo , Verneukpan and some of the old beautiful Churches in Brandvlei , Fraserburg and Sutherland ..I was glad to have taken my drone , insta360 camera and gopro along to capture some great memories of this trip
