21st July 2004. Day two in the USA on our pre-worlds tour.
The Aussie Dingoes played a mini-tournament today with Furious George (Vancouver), Sockeye (Seattle) and aXe (Portland). The games were played in Monroe, Washington State on a day that was hot and muggy. We were definitely feeling the heat, but so were most of the teams we played, as they are just starting their seasons.
The Aussie dingoes played an excellent days ultimate with all players contributing strongly. Tom Rogacki earnt the respect of some of the North West's best throwers... and receivers - making a notable contribution on O and D. In the end though it was strong performances by all players that lead to the first victories for an Australian men's team against top US squads.
To cut a long story short we won the tournament, by having the best goal difference in a three-way tie with Sockeye and Furious. The scores were;
Dingoes vs Seattle Sockeye 15-11
Dingos vs Portland aXe 15-6
Dingoes vs Vancouver Furious George 14-16
We have a day off now before we fly to the East coast on Tuesday.
