OOH LA LA! 😉 We're going French this week! The tiny stone house suffers from damp rising up through the house’s original concrete floor & water seeping through the base of the cabin’s 20” thick ancient stone wall. Last week we added a new floor with a damp proof membrane which will help the issue but not stop it.

In order to fix the damp, we need to stop the water sitting around the outside of the stone cottage & send it away from the building. Cue the French drain installation!

After digging a 22 metre trench by hand, jack hammering stone, angle grinding back granite boulders, laying non-woven geotextile fabric to house the perforated drainage pipe & then backfilling with gravel, we finally completed the old cabin’s French drain project!
