The drums of war shook village stone, her brother stood in mail,
A boy too young to bear a blade, now marching down the vale.
She lit a fire, drew ancient signs, her voice a trembling plea,
And from the dark the demon rose… with eyes like burning sea.

No scar upon his gentle face, no fear, no guilt, no shame.
She stood alone beneath the moon, her breath a cloud of frost,
But when he came to take his due… he paused, and counted not the cost.

And something deep within him stirred — a softness in that place.
“I’ve claimed a thousand souls before, yet none have shone so true…

The sword was sheathed, the land had peace — until another day.
New banners rose, new blood was claimed, and war returned once more,
They came for sons, not brothers now… and knocked upon her door.
