He walks alone through silent streets,
Where laughter fades and shadow greets.
Children whisper, elders stare,
They mock the mask, but none would dare.

His coat is torn, his boots are cracked,
The world moved on, the past unpacked.
Statues crumble, names erased,
Their savior gone, his tale replaced.

A soldier burned and battle-scarred.
He watched the flames devour the sky,
Yet stood when better men would die.

He sealed the gate with blood and bone,
Then vanished, cursed to walk alone.
