This might be some tough love for you,
But if you are only eating 2000 calories (or far less) there is a good chance you won’t see your period return anytime soon😬
A lot of women don’t realize how much they are actually expending each day just to be alive…
On top of the hours of workouts🏃🏻♀️ and how much energy is truly required to produce adequate levels of hormones⚡️
While I definitely don’t encourage calorie counting as there is much more to supporting ovulation than a random calorie target, I often hear women tell me they are only eating 1200-1600 calories and are frustrated because they lost their period🫠
As a Registered Dietitian who has been helping women with this for over 6 years, I will say that in many cases 2000 calories is still far too low for many active women!
The approach I take however is one that doesn’t have you needing to track calories and have helped many women restore their periods taking a more gentle, yet intentional approach to fueling their bodies for their lifestyle💪🏼
