Bryan Pendleton's Trombone Quintet arrangement of Misty is quite simply one of my favourite pieces of writing for the instrument. I first encountered it during my time as Lead Trombone of the Syd Lawrence Orchestra. Bryan wrote it as a feature for band leader Chris Dean and the trombone section and Chris very kindly let me have a copy. In this multitracked recording I am joined by current SLO drummer Dave Tandy, Simon Minshall on Bass Trombone and Dave Ferris on Piano.
