Efficient healthcare administration and secure patient data management are essential for improving clinical outcomes and operational productivity. Conventional hospital systems often suffer from fragmented medical records, inefficient appointment handling, and delayed prescription workflows, resulting in increased waiting times and potential medical inaccuracies. The absence of immediate point-of-care access to consolidated patient information further limits clinical efficiency and coordinated decision-making.
This project presents an Intelligent QR-Code Based Patient Information Management (IQB-PIM) framework, implemented as a full-stack web application using Python and the Django framework, adhering to IEEE academic standards. The proposed system utilizes QR codes as unique patient identifiers, enabling rapid and secure retrieval of medical records. Upon scanning a patient-specific QR code through a mobile or tablet interface, healthcare providers can instantly access comprehensive patient data, including medical history, prescriptions, and treatment records.
The system architecture integrates a secure cloud-based database for centralized data storage and real-time synchronization. A dedicated web application manages patient registration, record updates, and administrative functions, while a mobile interface enables on-the-spot QR scanning and dynamic record modification. This approach enhances workflow efficiency, reduces redundancy, and minimizes administrative overhead.
Designed strictly for academic and research purposes, this project demonstrates practical implementation of healthcare information systems, secure data handling, and full-stack web development. It serves as a structured reference model for students exploring medical informatics, cloud-integrated systems, and intelligent healthcare automation.
