It comes after the Netherlands took control of a Chinese owned, Dutch-based, chipmaker Nexperia after the U.S. raised security concerns.

Beijing halted exports of the company’s finished products, 80 per cent of which are processed in China, leading to warnings from auto firms that they were just days away from total shutdown.
