The line is worked by a ‘One Train Working’ system (O.T.W.) using a train staff containing an Annett’s key. All points on the main line, except those at Damems Junction, are secured by an Annett’s Lock. At Damems Junction, the O.T.W. staff is used to unlock the signal box lever frame. This splits the line into two block sections: Keighley to Damems Junction and Damems Junction to Oxenhope.
Here we see BR Standard Class 4MT 4-6-0, 75078 (1956, Swindon) and Waggon und Maschinenbau Diesel Railbus, M79964 (1958, Donauwöth) perform a well choreographed dance as they exchange tokens to move from one section of the line to the other.
