Mityana South MP Richard Lumu has asked Parliament to withdraw a bill he introduced in 2024. The bill sought to introduce the election of the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament by MPs. The House convened for plenary this year; however, when he was asked to present the Administration of Parliament (Amendment) Bill, 2024, he withdrew it. The MP added that he withdrew the bill after realizing that some unintended clauses had been introduced. More details in this story.
