Video was made on mountain Koziakas, in South Pindos - Greece at around 1700 meters at a vertical cave entrance.
The cave name is Tripa Volioti and it was explored during a caving expedition organised by Proteas Caving Team.
Choughs were nesting on the walls of that cave and around sunset we were able to witness that spectacular moment.
I was able to film (even in low quality due to light conditions) a very unique behaviour from that special species, Pyrrhocorax graculus graculus.
The Alpine chough, or yellow-billed chough (Pyrrhocorax graculus), is a bird in the crow family, one of only two species in the genus Pyrrhocorax. Its two subspecies breed in high mountains from Spain eastwards through southern Europe and North Africa to Central Asia and Nepal, and it may nest at a higher altitude than any other bird. The eggs have adaptations to the thin atmosphere that improve oxygen take-up and reduce water loss.
