This short film shows the processes and participants in Merovee Guerin's Bealtaine Community Weaving Project in conjunction with Mayo County Council and the O'Dwyer Art Centre.
Artist & Facilitator Merovee Guerin worked at the O’Dwyer Art Centre, Lismirrane, to create a Community Tapestry with members of the Kiltimagh Tuesday Club, residents from the O’Dwyer/Cheshire Home and visitors to the O’Dwyer Arts Centre.
The work was produced in conjunction with Mayo County Council's Bealtaine 2014. Bealtaine aims to involve older people in the arts, through expression and active participation. It also encourages older people to engage as an experienced audience for all art forms.
The O'Dwyer Centre Weave was launched at the Centre on Culture Night Friday September 19th 2014 by Artist/Poet Mike Absalom.
